"Five Cliffside Villages on the Italian Riviera"
Cinque Terre is a UNESCO-protected stretch of the Italian Riviera where Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore tumble down terraced cliffs to the sea. Hiking trails connect the villages through vineyards and lemon groves, while a local train and ferries make hopping between them easy. Expect fresh seafood, pesto from nearby Genoa, and local Sciacchetrà wine. Summer crowds are heavy, so overnighting in a village or visiting in spring or fall gives a better experience.
