"Canals, Belfries & a Medieval Market Town"
Bruges feels like a city that refused to modernize its center. Canals thread past brick houses, swans, and stone bridges, and the Belfry rises over the Markt. A boat ride, a climb of the tower, and an hour in the Groeningemuseum cover the highlights, with chocolate shops and beer cafes in between. It is small, so two or three nights is plenty, and Brussels or Ghent is a short train ride away. Cruise ships usually dock at Zeebrugge, not in town.
Markt & Belfry, Rozenhoedkaai canal view, canal boat ride, Burg square, Groeningemuseum, Beguinage, Minnewater, chocolate shops
